SkillKart connects clients with university students who freelance, for small, well-defined jobs, and holds the money safely until the work is delivered.
It was built as a university final-year project by another student team. I was not an official member, but I gave substantial development support and implemented a significant portion of the platform.
Two marketplace models live side by side: clients post custom jobs and receive proposals, or buy pre-packaged services (gigs). Around them sit the full workflows of a real marketplace, from registration and freelancer profiles to contracts, delivery, reviews, messaging and administration, with separate experiences for clients, freelancers and admins on the web and Android.
At its centre is a wallet-based escrow. Clients fund work before it begins, milestone by milestone; payments are released on delivery, disputes can be raised, and the platform takes its commission.

Worked across the front end and back end in React 19, Node.js, Express and MongoDB.

Built authentication with JWT and Supabase OAuth, and role-based access for clients, freelancers and admins.

Worked on the wallet escrow: milestone funding, payment releases, dispute handling and platform commission, with Stripe.
- Op 04
Integrated AI assistance, project cost estimation, skill matching and CV analysis, with a fallback across AI providers (Gemini, DeepSeek, Qwen, Groq, Claude and Ollama).
- Op 05
Integrated Cloudinary for files, Firebase Cloud Messaging for push notifications, and real-time messaging.
- Op 06
Supported the Android app, built with Capacitor from the same React code.
- A live marketplace with separate client, freelancer and admin experiences on the web and Android.
- Payments held in escrow until the work is delivered, milestone by milestone.
