PractiCal delivers calorie-focused, portion-controlled meal plans across Dubai, Abu Dhabi and the rest of the UAE. Its website is where most customers meet the brand, so the main pages had to load fast and feel effortless on every device.
I worked on those main pages in Next.js with one goal above the rest: a faster first impression, measured in Google PageSpeed Insights. Alongside the speed work came refinements to the home page UI and its interactions, made from the client’s feedback.
- Op 01
Implemented lazy loading for below-the-fold images and components.
- Op 02
Improved bundle efficiency, so less JavaScript ships to the first view.
- Op 03
Raised Google PageSpeed Insights scores through loading, rendering and responsiveness improvements.
- Op 04
Refined the home page UI and interactions from client feedback, for clarity and engagement.
- Op 05
Integrated the site’s forms with Sitecore.
- Op 06
Kept the landing experience smooth and consistent on phones, tablets and desktops.
- Faster main pages with better Google PageSpeed Insights scores.
- A clearer, more engaging home page, refined with the client.
