ABrief

A sophisticated digital platform for the literary and publishing world in the UAE: large book exhibitions, publishing activity, author engagement and cultural events, all run from one CMS.

It is built on Next.js with Sitecore JSS: editors compose pages in Sitecore and the front end renders them as fast React pages. With many page types, many sections and heavy traffic around each event, scale and consistency mattered as much as the look.

I took primary ownership of the Next.js and Sitecore JSS implementation and worked directly in Sitecore on selected areas. Visitors register through multistep forms that end in a generated PDF, engineered to keep load off the server, and the forms are protected by Google reCAPTCHA.

BWhat I did
  1. Op 01

Led the Next.js and Sitecore JSS front end of a large multi-page application.

  2. Op 02

Built complex page sections and reusable components from detailed design specifications, pixel-perfect and responsive.

  3. Op 03

Built multistep registration forms and a PDF generation flow designed to reduce server load.

  4. Op 04

Integrated Google reCAPTCHA to protect the forms, and worked on front-end security.

  5. Op 05

Contributed to CMS implementation and integration workflows directly in Sitecore.

  6. Op 06

Kept a large codebase maintainable with TypeScript, a structured SCSS architecture and reusable components.

  7. Op 07

Used AI-assisted coding throughout the build.

COutcome
  • 50% less development time with AI-assisted coding.
  • Registration that ends in a generated PDF, with less load on the server.
  • Forms protected by Google reCAPTCHA across the platform.
